- Made of mixed conifer species, mainly larch, spruce and fir, from forests which are suitably managed under the United Kingdom Woodland Assurance Scheme
- Graded using the Miracle Mill and screen system to a very consistent particle size 75-80% of the particles range from 5-30mm in size, with no chips over 50mm long
- Negligible sawdust content
- Minimal fines content, usually less than 5% (passing through a 8mm mesh screen)
- Bark content aids the binding of the surface
- Moisture content in the region of 40-60% (green weight basis)
- The weight/volume ratio (bulk density) is normally within the range of 300-310g/ltr
- The pH range is between 5.0 and 6.0
- Free of all foreign matter such as metal, stones, plastics, glass and other extraneous materials
- Golden brown in colour whilst virtually free of odour
- Durable, long lasting and free from pathogens, pests and weed seeds
