A.W. Jenkinson holds a 50% share in leading landscaping material and biomass fuel supplier, Amenity and Horticultural Services Limited, better known in the market as AHS.
Since the Company’s formation in 1991, AHS has built up a strong reputation for quality, efficiency and prompt delivery in the supply of an extensive range of barks, composts and associated products to the landscape industry.
The Company’s success draws on the sales strengths of Managing Director Nick Guest, combining them with the logistical experience of A.W. Jenkinson. This balanced approach allows the business to market and distribute over 400,000m3 of landscape products sourced from across the UK and Europe every year; making the business the largest bulk supplier of landscaping material in the UK.
Whether transported as 70m3 loads by A.W. Jenkinson’s walking floors, or by a number of other vehicles drawn from the AHS fleet, customers receive deliveries within 48 hours of order.
In 2006, AHS recognised the opportunities available within the wood recycling markets. The first site at Padworth, near Reading, was leased and has been developed into a flexible operation that matches the demands of the manufacturing and energy sectors.
Additional sites in Cambridgeshire and Sussex are now in operation under the ‘AHS Energy’ name. These new facilities manufacture and supply a broad spectrum range of sustainable biomass woodchip for smaller industrial boilers, as well as energy generators large and small across the UK and Europe.
AHS Energy’s customer requirements vary significantly depending on the energy installation, however the Company’s flexible service and large scale investment in machinery, manpower and sites ensure that the special requirements of its customers are met, whether volumes are large or small.
AHS and AHS Energy each provide bespoke solutions to both customers and suppliers and are capable of entering agreements for material collection or acceptance, processing and supply, delivering long term, sustainable solutions in every market.
